Introduction To Our Journey 1 of 3

We are starting this blog to help us keep everyone interested updated on our adoption process.

Let us introduce ourselves for those of you that have been invited to this blog through a friend.  We are Darvin and Angie Stoner.  We were called to adoption in the first few years of our marriage as we struggled with infertility.  We came to the conclusion God was just wanting us to grow our family through the adoption process and we were ok as we realized these children need a forever home and parents to love them also.  So we started the process in 1997 to adopt a little girl from China.  The day before we were submitting a substantial amount of money to be sent to the Chinese government we found out we were pregnant.  We had a HUGE decision to make in 24 hours.  Move forward or pull out.  They projected our travel time to be about the time the baby was due so we decided to pull out. July of that year we were Blessed with our son Conrad.  We so enjoyed being parents.  Three years later we were Blessed with our daughter Ciara, December 2000.  We thought we were finished with biological children and Darvin was content on having the "million dollar family" but Angie still felt like our family wasn't complete.

We raised our children and enjoyed the Blessing they were. In the fall of 2010 Angie started to feel unsettled.  She shared with a friend that there was still a part of her heart that felt that they were called to adopt. She had asked Darvin numerous times over the years if he thought about still adopting and his answer was always, "I'm content with the two we have."  November 2010 a local agency was having an informative meeting for Ethiopia and China adoptions.  I shared with this friend that I really wanted to go but was scared to ask Darvin again.  She prayed with me and said ask one more time.  So I did.  To my surprise he said OK to going.  So we went that evening and listened.  When it was over we needed to stop and pick something up at Panera Bread and I was determined no to ask the first question.  Well after I came out from getting what we needed he said so which country did you feel drawn to?  I said Ethiopia.  He said me too.  So I asked when they could start the process and he said yesterday.  You can't even imagine the excitement in my heart.  We began the process December of 2010.
